A great turnout for the Village of Oak Creek Community -- Thank you to everyone who attended the Firewise Community Education Event this week at the VOCA Community Center. With over 120 local residents in attendance, it was encouraging to see such strong community engagement around wildfire preparedness.
Attendees heard directly from the Sedona Oak Creek Fire District, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, and the Coconino National Forest Service, gaining practical insight into Firewise principles, evacuation procedures, and steps homeowners can take to better protect their properties.
The feedback has been very positive, with many residents leaving the event feeling more informed and better prepared to live safely in a wildfire-prone environment.
