Welcome! We appreciate your interest and wish you luck in receiving one of our scholarships.
CRITERIA:
- Any student grades 6 through 11 who resides in Sedona and/or is currently attending a Sedona school
- Scholarship should be to a program that enriches the student’s abilities whether it be science, music, drama, leadership, art, academic, sport, or other.
- How to apply:
- Complete and submit the computer fill-able application; application form.
- Make and submit a 2-to-5-minute video (cell phone generated video acceptable) where you demonstrate your abilities and/or tell of your passion in the subject of the enrichment camp you would like to attend. Example: for an art camp, show and talk about your artwork; for a science camp, tell about why this is a passion for you and a project you have done; for a drama camp, present an acting segment and tell us about it). Email us if you need ideas.
- Ask a teacher related to the subject of the camp (Example: Music teacher for a music camp; coach for a sports camp) to send a letter or email of recommendation that includes:
- How do you know this student and for how long?
- Describe this student’s character and their motivation in relation to the area of interest of the camp they would like to attend.
- Do you believe this student will make the most of this opportunity and benefit from the camp they wish to attend?
- Deadline for application, video and teacher recommendation: April 15
- Application, video, teacher recommendation, and questions should be e-mailed to: president@SedonaVillageRotary.org
PROCESS:
- Applications will be reviewed and scored by a panel of Rotary Club of Sedona Village Rotarians
- Scholarship recipients will be announced by May 15
- Scholarship will be sent directly to the program the student is attending
- Scholarship recipients will be invited to do a program at a Rotary meeting about their experience
