  • Happy birthday, Harvey on the 20th!
  • Whole lotta love for Jennette who underwent successful emergency hernia repair in Colorado!
  • Pints for Polio:  Fourth time was a charm!  Thanks to Russ, Bob, Garey, John and David for coming to PJ's.  We had two patrons contribute to Pints for Polio!
  • Members shared their happiness, contributing another 70 dollars to The Rotary Vocational Foundation of Arizona (TRVFA).  This brings our total donation from Happy Bucks to $160 plus the $250 in honor of DG Larry Horton's visit for a grand total of $410!
  • Thank you to people of action:  Robin, Mark, Russ, Heather, Holly, John, Ernie, Tracey, and Robert!  They all participated in the 1st Annual District Environmental Challenge.  Fortunately Red Rock Crossing only yielded 11 pounds of trash.  However, Clark's parking lot gave 12 lbs, The Element donated 25 pounds, and the 179/I-17 interchange contributed 70!
  • Teresa Lamparter, SRRHS Interact Advisor, spoke to us about their phenomenal club with 70 members!  The students are lending helping hands all over Sedona!  Our members contributed to their operational fund by either buying tickets to the West Sedona's Wildcat Carnival or just donating.  Members opened their wallets and generously gave about $200!
  • Nominations are still being accepted for all positions for the 2023-24 Rotary year.  Email Carolyn at cjmartinod@gmail.com if you are interested in serving your club.
  • The final Veterans' Raffle will be held Friday-Sunday, November 11-13 at Clark's.  Watch your email for a sign up form!
  • Our annual Veterans' Day Program at Sedona Winds will be held on Friday, November 11 from 10-11 a.m. at Sedona Winds.  Reverend Fred Mast will provide the invocation, and Sammy Davis will be providing the entertainment.  Please attend this important service if you are able.  More details coming soon from Veterans' Detail Coordinator, Rob.
  • Invite your friends, spouses, co-workers and strangers to our meeting on November 17th!  Accord Hospice is presenting Lilya short play, followed by 5 Wishes:  Living Will-Aging with Diginity.  Coffee and rolls will be provided.  Informational flyer coming soon.
Let's Finish What We Started
Our meeting featured Rotary Foundation: Did Ya Know? with Mark, prepping us with important facts about END Polio NOW.  The Rotary Foundation committed to eradicating Polio in 1988.  Since then the number of cases of infection have been reduced by 99.9% through the vaccination of over 2 billion children in 122 countries.  Unfortunately the wild polio virus is still present, with cases this year in the United States, the UK, Malawi, and Mozambique.  Bill Gates is still matching our donations $2 for every $1.  It's up to us as Rotarians to finish what we started.

The videos at the following links were shared with the club.  Carolyn had her usual technology fail with her attempt to connect a speaker so that all could easily hear the audio.  However, the videos were so riveting, you could hear a pin drop in the room.  Even Mark was quiet!  If you were unable to attend, please check out the following:

Quote of the Meeting

"It’s so simple really:  If you say you’re going to do something, do it.  If you start something, finish it.”
