In Rotary, the District Governor’s visit is more than a date on the calendar. It’s a long-standing tradition that connects each club to the wider Rotary family and reminds us that Rotary’s strength begins at the local level.
This year, we were honored to welcome our District Governor, Jim Schmidt, to our club. True to Rotary tradition, the visit was both ceremonial and meaningful. Jim spent time with our members, listened to our stories, and shared district priorities and encouragement, reinforcing the vital link between our club, the district, and Rotary International.
We marked the occasion in classic Rotary fashion with a breakfast potluck, gathering around the table to share food, fellowship, and conversation before the meeting. These shared meals are an important part of the tradition, creating space for connection and reminding us that Rotary leadership is rooted not just in service, but in relationships.
A District Governor’s visit is never an inspection; it’s a celebration. Jim Schmidt’s visit affirmed that what we do as a club matters, that our service has impact, and that together, across clubs and communities, we are part of something much larger than ourselves.
